inlay joinery

This shows the making of a joint with an inlay that is sandwiched between the two pieces that are being joined.

The wood used in this woodworking project is birch and padouk.

The router bit that I used for the cnc routing was a 3.175 mm (1/8th inch) compression bit.

That cnc machine definitely has 2 absolute encoders. Probably 3 in

Its pretty cool but im not convinced this would have any strength, you can see the wobble when you hook them both up, theres a bit of kerf there. Still, this has great cosmetic value
