– the operation of compilers and interpreters for high-level languages
– advantages and disadvantages of compilers and interpreters

Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science helps learners develop an interest in computational thinking and an understanding of the principles of problem-solving using computers. They apply this understanding to create computer-based solutions to problems using algorithms and a high-level programming language. This question paper consists of short-answer and structured questions set on Topics 1–6 of the subject content.
All questions are compulsory, and candidates answer on the question paper.
This paper assesses all assessment objectives, AO1, AO2 and AO3, and assesses the full grade range, A* to G.
This paper is externally assessed.

Does the syllabus expect us to to know how each and every component of operating system works, for example, for management of memory and hardware peripherals do we have to learn every single thing about them?
