Motorola Moto G7 Review | Still the best value phone?

The Moto G7 is one of the best sub-£300 mid-range mobiles in 2019, showing that Motorola's G-Series hasn't lost its mojo, even if these smartphones aren't as affordable as before. Chris has been using the G7 as his personal handset and here's his full review, touching on the performance, camera tech, battery life and best features of this stock Android phone.

This Moto handset may be somewhat stooped in the shadow of the mighty Plus model, yet we still love the satisfying experience when using it full-time. Aside from the occasional little glitch, the Motorola G7 delivers a smooth and speedy performance. That's in part thanks to the untouched Android UI, while the Snapdragon chipset is helped along by the 4GB RAM.

You have a dual lens camera, although it's different hardware to the more premium version. You can still capture crisp portrait photos and up to 4K resolution video, which does the job for your home movies.

I just ssnagged a Moto G7 for $183.59 USD after tax direct from Motorola's US website, and will be upgrading from my aging Moto G5 Plus, and not sure how I'm gonna like the fingerprint reader on the back having gotten so use to navigating with the front one on my G5 plus for so long, but I'll be glad to have a battery that's not all over the place like my G5 plus which will sometimes last all day under normal use, and other times will be more than 1/2 dead before even lunch time hits.

Question. I have the Motorola G7 and let's say I want to charge the phone when the battery is at 1%. This phone takes like 3 and a half hours to charge it where the battery is full. Is something wrong with my phone. I can't believe it takes 3 and 1/2 hours to charge this phone

Got the g7 instead of the g7 power for these reasons:
1) Screen
2) Don't prefer bulky phone.
3) Don't really do too much gaming or watching movies on a phone.
4) The camera.

My wife and I have both had a g6 for the past 7 or 8 months. She upgraded to the Galaxy s10+ and I will be going with the G7 Power when it is released here next week. She already regrets not waiting for the Power and saving like $700.

Question! Today, the xperia xz1 compact is a lot cheapee than the g7 at my local store. Is the xz1 more phone for the money if cheaper than g7? And isn't the camera better on the xz1?

The inability to have Dolby Audio switched off while using USB earphones/DAC/dongle is the reason I won't buy Motorola phones amymore. Dolby Audio ruins any sound coming out from earphones.

My 13yo daughters g5 plus is glitching bad and it's time to move on. I'm curious how they compare. I've seen reviewers claiming the gym better than guy due to cutting corners. Best buy is selling pixel 3a for 299, but was hoping to not spend quite that much. Considered getting her a pixel 2, cuz my pixel 2xl is awesome, but the notches ..gross. So then considered essential ph-1, (would give her mine, but after a bad drop, display is real stuttery, and I'm having fun testing Android Q beta 4), but can 9nlu buy refurbs and reviews are quite mixed (though there are some being sold for 700 for new models, out of the price range). Wanna know how this compares to her g5 + compared to other budget-ish phones. Thanks.

I bought the Moto g7 Power today and I have to give it a NO GO. I'm taking it back tomorrow and get the LG Stylo 5. And I thought the Stylo 4+ sucked a little but it was just the carrier. I think from now on I'll just stick with LG but I want to try the Samsung A20.

For the £230 lenovos asking, I'd rather get an A grade refurbished lg v30! Better camera, SD835, the quad dac is great and it was the best battery life for 2018!! Can also get battery cases for £30 that makes the phone last like 3 days at a festival
