Here’s the simple fact, the more money the government takes, the less people want to make money. If I bust my butt every day and only get to keep 1/2 of my earnings, why would I bother? Likewise why would I bother leaving an inheritance if it’s not going to my family? The whole purpose of an inheritance is to leave it for your family!

Plus, the rich people are going to find a lot more ways to get past this tax then a middle-class American.

The vast majority of inheritance for middle-class and lower is HOUSES.
The 100% inheritance tax would rip homes away from families and hit the very poorest the very hardest. Can’t raise your new family in grandma’s newly vacant paid-off house! Get out on the street and just scratch to make rent.

This is actually incorrect, as the inheritance tax does not actually apply to Low or Middle Class. It only applies IF, and ONLY IF, the inheritance is worth $1 million or more. It also prevents generational wealth, which is pretty important actually.

And if you have a $1 million inheritance, you were not low or middle class. So no, it does not effect them at all.

Before my dad died of cancer he told me I get all of his fishing stuff, 3 years later I'm still using it despite not really catching much I get to fish with my dad every time I go out to the water.

I dare the government to take that away from me.
