A few years ago here in upstate New York, there was a Paw Patrol show scam going around. It was billed as a live action interactive experience. Much like this. What parents got, was a couple of people in knockoff costumes in the corner of disused hockey arena. And it cost a couple hundred dollars to attend! I don’t believe anyone got refunded for that.

The local Shriners had a chocolate expo as well, in Massachusetts. And yeah there were not a ton of decorations.. BUT they didn't pretend there was going to be, and there was a ton of chocolatiers there, plus the original Charlie, Mike TV, Veruca, and one of the Oompa Loompahs.
