The “Punt la Greina” suspension bridge hangs on the Greina plateau. This plateau is one of Switzerland's nature reserves. Buildings of any kind are difficult to realize here. However, as the “Punt la Greina” suspension bridge was able to replace a dangerous section of path (eastern edge of Mount la Greina), including the existing bridge, all nature conservation associations and all the authorities involved were in agreement. Sometimes common sense simply prevails ;-).

In 2018, the suspension bridge built at the foot of Pass Diesrut (2428 m above sea level) was commissioned by the municipalities of Lumnezia and Sumvitg and the Piz Terri SAC section. The Greina suspension bridge, which was built by the company Crestageo, was opened on July 6, 2019, but access was already possible and permitted from October 5, 2018.

Thanks to this 63-metre-long and, at its highest point, 40-metre-high suspension bridge (which crosses the Rein da Sumvitg), the hike from Pass Diesrut (coming from Vrin) to the Terrihütte is easier and, above all, safer. Crossing the suspension bridge also makes the Greina hike an even more unforgettable experience.
