It is not correct! The lift mechanism did NOT lift the cage directly! It lifted a massive counterweight that was secured high against the upper part of the frame by a release mechanism. Then at the proper moment the mechanism or brake pin was pulled causing a very rapid lifting of the cage and tripping of the ramp. In fact the "Brake pin" may have both dropped the ramp and released the counterweight. Lifting the cage direct would have been too slow for directed action!
