The week I heard that the Civic Hybrid was heading to dealers, I got a quote from my local dealer for a Sport Hatch 6MT, ran down, and drove it home, feeling relieved I got the manual before they disappeared.

It took me a year to find my 2024 civic sport manual. I will probably never sell this car and keep it to give to my son when I'm too old to drive a stick. Love the vids NAUS, I'm getting the motor mount this spring because of your video on it. Thanks bud!

Naus, love content keep it coming! I was lucky to get a ‘24 Sport Hatch Manual…. I had to buy a one way ticket to LA in April and drive home

So glad I was able to get the manual transmission on my ‘23 Sport HB. It’s a shame they killed it.

SO glad I picked up my '24 2.0 manual when I did (thanks to you for that), but the '25 hybrids do seem like an amazing deal. If I had an unexpected death in my fleet, I'd probably add a Civic hybrid for LA traffic duty.

I got my 23 6spd sport hatch because of your videos. Especially the port/direct inject. I love it.

Naus, I hope you keep posting content. I also have a ‘23 Sport Hatch with the 6MT. I’ve had it exactly 2 years today, 11/29/24. Over 72, 000 miles. I still love driving this car. How about you tackle the issue of remote start with the manual transmission? That’d be an awesome video. Please keep up the good work, love your channel!

So sad they killed the manual…I’m about a year or so from buying a new vehicle, and was hoping to buy the hatchback manual. I’d have been okay with the L15 or K20. I guess the SI is still around, though I’d prefer the hatchback. At this point, I am going consider the Mazda 3 hatchback in manual.

In any case, wife got a 24 CRV hybrid and the Honda hybrid system is pretty impressive, great power delivery, great mpg in most conditions. For anyone looking for a sporty car at that price point that doesn’t care about the manual, the civic hybrid should be at the top of your list.

I have a 24 LX hatch with the CVT. I searched high and low for a manual, but couldn’t find one. I really needed a new car (old rav4 5 speed was totaled) and definitely wanted the hatchback, so I settled for the LX. This is the first CVT car I’ve owned, and although I have grown to appreciate how smooth it is, along with the very decent mpgs, I really, really miss driving a stick. I keep scouring the net for a used 6spd, but they are as rare as unicorns. lol

I agree with sport vs sport hybrid. Also the sport hybrid comes with a bit of more features. It’s all marketing to make you just go “eh I’ll just get the hybrid.” It’s similar with the Corolla. Corolla LE hybrid comes with more features, and they’ll never bring the Corolla hatchback as a hybrid to the US to keep Prius revenant in the market.

Sadly saw the manual kill coming. Honda the few brands keeping manual alive in the US, But at least we had a big amount of manuals left and at least SI is still left and most Acura offer manual. Killing manual hatchbacks though sucks since c’mom buying a Civic Type R just for a hatchback smh. Again least lots of used out there.

Great video!!!!

I was looking for the 6MT because of price and reliability of engine, due to how many issues I had with the L22 1.5 on my 19 accord, settled for the 25 civic hybrid. $35, 000 out the door is not ideal but put a big chunk down and so far after a week I genuinely am liking this car a lot

I'm sure some people think I'm crazy for buying a '24 Civic Sport Hatch MT6 when I don't even need it, but well, I did.
I don't even use it for anything, as I use my '19 Fit EX MT6 for that. The Civic was strictly to keep as a museum piece. I drive it once a week.
My Rally Armor mud flaps for the Civic should arrive today.

I heard some of the new 2025 Honda Civics with the K20C9s are having issues with the high pressure fuel pumps and those may be on a stop sale status from Honda so those won't be sold to customers until Honda remedies their issues. I don't know how widespread this issue is or if it is just a smaller batch but it is a known issue. Honda outsources their high pressure fuel pumps from Denso. One would have thought that Honda would have done their homework after Denso faced lawsuits in Canada with due to faulty fuel pumps in Hondas, Toyotas and Subarus but it seems they did not do a very good vetting process. This is yet another reason folks should consider a 2024 Civic with the K20C2 instead.

The K20C9 is also an Atkinson cycle engine which is common to find in hybrid engines, I guess this is the reason Vtec was not considered for the K20C9.

The HYBRID is the ONLY way to go there are a number of concerns regarding maintenance and reliability of Honda's 'two-way motor' hybrid system. How long will the battery go for? At least as long as warranty, presumably. What happens if the battery is no good? Will the car still function as sort-of ICE-only?

The front bumper looks “extended” and gives it a snow plow look, however not as bad looking as Toyota products.

I had a 2017 CR-V Touring with the 1.5L I bought used. Took it in to see what needed to be fixed. It was about $2, 500 the biggest thing being a broken off PCV valve and the fuel injectors. I was talked into trading it (🙄😒) and it was a 2025 Civic Sport. Wish I wouldn't have now that I've experienced it.

Great video, and I agree with almost everything you stated. But I do like the front end and darker smokes taillights and chassis and other improvements, but yes, not so much the switch to the engine for better mpg, because that can vary depending on driving habits and other factors.

I still would want to get one, but as a second car, but still I tend to get an HR-V Sport that still has the better engine. But if I was to get the new Civic as a second vehicle, I would want the Sport Touring Hybrid, primarily for the Bose Stereo, and the leather seats, Google built in, parking sensors, etc. is a plus. And the wheels are nice, but I do prefer the Sport black wheels. I might even change the wheels and just store the original ones.

But then, if the Sedan was okay, the Si seems like a good option with the Bose Stereo, especially if I wanted the 6 Speed manual and performance suspension. But would make sure the oil changes were done maybe more often than 5K miles, and the proper warm up and cool down, especially after hard driving for oil circulation and engine and turbo reliability and longevity. But would probably not make substantial performance mods to the engine or drive it really hard

They should have kept the 6 Speed option on the Sport. And it would be nice to have a conventional automatic transmission, too

But there supposedly is a refresh coming for the 2026 HR-V, probably available late next year. I don't know what cosmetic changes would be, but I am thinking the might add the hybrid options and equipment that comes with it in the Civic.

But Acura is also coming out with the HR-V based ADX SUV. It will have the 200 horsepower 1.5T engine from the Civic Si and Integra A Spec, with a CVT, the usual upgraded appointments, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo. It looks nice with the usual new front fascia design language. The back looks like a slightly more fancy HR-V with big dual exhaust finishers, and probably be $40-45K. It looks good in the Urban Grey Pearl or similar paint, but the Apex Blue Pearl really pops.

Nice, but I would rather stick with the more affordable HR-V Sport with the reliable K20 engine. But a 6 Speed would be nice in that.

I like the refreshed bumper, no blank spots for fog lights.

Do you keep a tool kit in the car? I’d be curious to know what you carry for emergencies.

2700 miles on my 6MT sport, so far so good!

I’m looking to get a Hatchback Sport trim as a first car, you think it’s a good idea or na?
