How-to Tutorial: ReCap Feature Extraction Workflow

Показать описание
In this video you will learn the beginning to end workflow of extracting linear features from a point cloud and how to publish to the cloud for your organization or external parties to use and consume.

Learn how to create a new project, import scan files, and select coordinate system. Then, publish the project to the cloud. Once the project is published in the cloud, you can access the point cloud to extract linear features. Select the feature points you'd like to extract and export the linear features and import into Civil 3D to create a lightweight and accurate surface from the extracted features rather than working from a large point cloud. The imported feature lines can have attribute data included. Share your work to ArcGIS Online to have updated information for others in your organization or other external parties to access and use.

It would be interesting to see this in a more complicated section, such as right where you stopped the breaklines. Is Recap able to continue to follow the paint stripe, or is that point/breakline always going to be a set distance from the others? Does Recap know when to start/stop this process? Can you run it backwards? (Say you started your cross section in the middle of where you wanted breaklines, can you run the same process with that cross section backwards?)

So it requires us to upload the project to the cloud to use? That's a deal breaker if it is.
