truly we live in a golden age of guitars. Theres always been cheaper guitars, but the type of quality available for so little is astounding. i mostly know about electrics but it seems to be like that somewhat for acoustics. when i was a teen a parlor guitar in new or at least working condition was out of my range. Sure wish i could find one like the one i played in a store that made me fall in love with parlors. It was priced at $850 (marked down even) and the only reason i picked it up was i was confused how such a little unassuming thing could be priced that way. its was a Takamine and it had open slotted headstock. never seen another since. this was around 2002 when i saw it. After that, i sought out parlors wherever i could and almost always in terrible condition. usually with the tuners and the neck. most of them had such a warped neck that the fret action was almost an inch or two away from the 12th fret. Then out of nowhere around 2012 Alvarez and Washburn and Ibanez (dont knock it till you try it. its competes well with others) were putting new models that were under $500 and ever since its expanded and even gotten more affordable. a true golden age for guitar.

I have one coming...cant wait. I also have a Taylor GS Mini...a Great sounding guitar...but it cost more than the Gretsch. I wanted a guitar for the back of my van that was low in cost but great in sound...I think I have found it.

Beavercreek has a selection of small guitars. I've got a bcrb501 which is a 13/16 scale 22" 14 fret electric acoustic with a really small shapely body. I changed nut and saddle to bone and perfected my setup and use m1400 martin silk and steel. I see 12 fret 3/4 in three variants like a dread a folk and classical.. I'm betting one would do the thing with similar updates

I have a small body usa guild and that’s what you get a small body sound! I also have a guild D55 which I simply love I would not buy a small body guitar again unless I want to spend a lot of$$

It would sound a lot better without the noise of your pick hitting the strings. Learn to use your fingers like a real man
