Now this is a lady I can actually respect. She stands for what she believes in without being rude to us about it. I think it's applaud worthy that she chooses to defend Beyoncé in this case of her CMA performance. I still don't understand why 'black lives matter' and 'anti police brutality' are so bad in these people's eyes but at least she doesn't ramble around making bullshit statements like that Tomi Lauhren chick

“On it’s way”? The storm never ended for people of color & other marginalized groups. Still, where was the backlash against Bieber, Timberlake, & Ariana Grande, when they performed at the CMAs? Why dance around the bottom line, that despite being from the South, it isn’t enough to protect her from attack? This isn’t *just* about the Dickie Chicks, who were within their right to critique Pres Bush. BLM has nothing to do with that song or the performance. It’s sad that people want to paint it every way other than the truth: it was a middle finger up performance. It worked, clearly.

Well, where you think BLUES, R&B "COUNTRY all come from "Black Culture", people need to really open your minds & JUST FREAKIN relax. Music is a BEAUTIFUL thing it brings people together, but when you have racist whites insulting and criticizing"Beyonce" for even performing at the "CMA's" is a low blow and a TRUE testament of how far we are in healing in the country with this blatant bigotry and vile & evil cowardly behavior from these idiots who felt the need to attack this beautiful"BLACK WOMAN" who apparently ruffled their feathers! seems to me as if they fear they have something to lose, cause they gained NOT A DAMN thing by their behavior and it only made "Queen Bey"that much stronger😉

This song is a direct legacy of Jimmy Rodgers and Bob Wills. It’s straight up country.

Thank you for that, Dana! A sensible reaction and well put. We might disagree on other things, but the fact that you can set aside all previous feelings, and objectively form an opinion on a great track like "Daddy Lessons" and the accompanying performance is refreshing. :)

You nailed it. Especially with The Dixie chicks. I have to wonder how much Beyonce knew about the contempt they feel towards us and we still feel towards them. Natalie preceded to taunt America immediately after the show. Still a very petulant child who would have been forgiven had she ever apologised. Country folk tend to forgive.... anyway, I will say it again, this could have been a bridge to help close this gap, but people were extremely racist about her amazing performance. This was a huge step down for everyone.

Dianna Ross of our generation is a little gushy don't you think Dana? I agree with you & most of what the folks at the Blaze say but I still think it could have been either sarcasm or feminism not truly supporting the right to defend one's self.
