Would like to have seen you heat some heat shrink tubing, heat shrink fork or butt connectors. Not a lot of us melt hot glue.

Bought this today for some furniture paint stripping, and it's going back to Lowes tomorrow. I have several other Dewalt tools, but this one is awful. The projection of the heat is tiny in both width and length from the heat coils. I had to hold it right next to the wood, so it's very slow going. I also went through three batteries in less than an hour. If you're working on doll house furniture it's probably okay, but otherwise don't waste your money on this tool.

I seen this about a week after your Ridgid heat gun review and it got my interest. I knew you would review it and possibly a tool duel between the two. Nice straight info review but you had me looking and waiting for something crazy funny. 👍

I have one with Powerstack 5AH Accu. Works fine to shrink Cabels

I wonder if it will melt roof felt as I need something other than a lighter for melting ripped parts back together

I rather have a heat gun that doesn't get extremely hot because of so many times you don't realize you leave it in one spot just too long and you get that burn or paint bubble so I rather have it a little bit less Heat

I do a lot of vct clear spread glue for commercial vinyl flooring. I have a corded wagner heat gun but my problem is I normally work while the grocery store is open to the public. So cords are a trip hazard and finding an outlet is always tough if I’m in the middle of a store. I use my map-pro hand torch but I would rather use a cordless heat gun. And I just bought a 8.0 battery at Lowe’s this past week for 159.00 so I think I’ll have plenty of juice.

I have the Ridgid heat gun. I would have bought the Dewalt if it was out. I still might buy it.

They are a big hit in the UK, I settled for a silverline DIY 2000W Heat gun, 550'c. I did burn through some paint and damaged a doorframe from making an ingroove into the wood. 900'c could have been worse. The batteries holsters could be bigger some new makes of Dewalt, STHIL size etc

Third verse same as the first...

I have it. Reason: I needed a heat gun a while back, and all of my batteries are this color. Better...worse...than something else? dunno. Doesn't really matter, unless someone that has a better one wants to offer free batteries.

It works.

Like Milwaukee tools, Makita, Hitachin as im in the platforms. Don’t own a single DeWalt power tool. The Milwaukee M18 heat gun isn’t for me. Was disappointed in it. No air flow control, temp control, etc.... My corded electric heat gun is awesome. Temp control that’s digital so able to set the exact temp I want, & goes up to 1400°! Can also control the air flow from 1 all the way up to 10 settings. Wish a cordless model would come out w/ all the “options/features” of my corded electric but in a cordless platform that I’m already in....preferably, lol.
The review on this gun is tempting to me. Like the high/low, & when you turn it off it cools down rather quickly. Would like to see some further testing of this against others, so definitely will be watching for that video👍🏻
Cheers✌🏼

i bought one but not happy with the heat . I have a smaller 20volt battery . I see you have a battery twice as big. Does the size of the battery make a difference e. Or are all 20v the same power out put

If I may add something!

I own one and the gun doesn't have a high air flow... If you need that of course
