Love Lafortuna ! Always had good weather there laid in bed at Los Logus and watched Arenal slowly erupted, fished lake Arenal and hiked all the trails. Great place.!👍

La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano are my favorite places in Costa Rica. I visited Costa Rica 5 times, the first time was in 1982 and through the years the country has changed in many ways. Because of the tourist industry it's becoming decadent with all the visitors and silly attractions. But on the other hand it's easier these days to find your way around and you don't have to rely on speaking Spanish as much, something you had to do in the 1980's. Nevertheless, it's the most amazing place I've ever been. I just hope all the tourism doesn't ruin the incredible natural beauty of this small and wonderful country.

We just returned from a week on La Fortuna and, overall, enjoyed it. HOWEVER, they don’t call it “rainy season” without reason. We stayed in a resort at the base of Arenal and NEVER saw the top of the volcano and watched heavy showers almost every day. I only wish we had split our week up with a few days on the coast. No worries, we’ll be back. Pura Vida!
