What's In My Bag has got to be one of the best things to ever be put on YouTube. Love The New Pornographers!

I love that they left the bickering in the video, lol. Like those two probably irritate the other dude all the time

I’ve been listening to their new album constantly. I’m so happy to find out they dig a lot of Brazilian music, as I am Brazilian! The New Pornographers for the win!

Always loved Carl’s dry sense of humour..since shopping at Scratch records with him behind the counter to those early gigs with Superconductor and Zumpano ❤

Thanks, again, Amoeba, for editing this episode so as not to hear the interviewer's voice till the end. The video just flows so much better. And some good finds from the band!

Nice to see Melenas make an appearance here - was not expecting that. They are great. Also cool to see Ellington at Newport, that was later considered his big comeback. For the music of Brazil, people should check out the musical movement from Minas (called corner club) led by Nascimento, Borges, and Guedes. It is otherworldly

Thank you for this. Some of my hometown heroes. Mass Romantic came out around the time I left Vancouver… no better ‘send off’ than that. Saw them years later at Union Transfer in Philly

Easily one of my favourite episodes, but they are one of my favourite bands so I might just be biased!

Mars Audiac Quintet is low-key one of the very best albums ever made. Peak Stereolab in my opinion.

6:34 - can't you just hear "If u want my body and u think I'm sexy, come on baby let me know" - - Rod's tune was 2 years later!

Very nice Brazilian stuff chosen. Stereolab is so good. Would love to sit and have coffee with those three people.

It was Paul Gonsalves taking chorus after chorus on Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue that caused the "riot" at Newport in 1956. It was evidence that the Ellington band was still relevant after all those years.
