Manipur Violence: On June 8, security personnel conducted Joint Combing Operations for the second day in a row in Manipur's Hills and Valley Sector, reported news agency ANI. Operations were handled in a people-friendly manner, with announcements being made for the voluntary surrender of illicit weaponry. Adequate precautions were taken throughout combing operations to ensure that little inconvenience was caused to local residents. The combing operations come after a BSF jawan was killed in Manipur’s Kakching district on June 6.
