Learning Cities Webinar: How digital learning can promote climate education in urban communities

On 19 June 2024, the webinar series: ‘Building green, inclusive and climate-resilient urban communities – the learning cities approach’ by the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, featured the webinar ‘How digital learning can promote climate education in urban communities’.
This webinar focused on how in the context of rapid digitalization, digital tools can be used to promote access to lifelong learning opportunities for climate action in learning cities and beyond. It looked at how access to quality lifelong learning opportunities promoting climate action can be widened at the local level using digital platforms and online learning offerings. It explored how climate change education can be reinforced through gamification and immersive experiences like virtual reality, and critically discussed the crucial issue of ensuring access in areas with low connectivity and for individuals with low digital literacy skills.
