Do you notice, there’s no anticipating exactly what Trigger’s going to say. He was a unique character played to perfection.

How the guy playing Trigger manages to deliver his lines with such a deadpan expression is amazing.

Trigger was Brilliant, who stole the show,
R.I.P Roger Lloyd Pack we'll never see anyone like you again
That scene was class.

Triggers timing was always spot on, I doubt any other actor could match him for the moment he said his lines.

" 20 years, it's a long time Dave." - " Yeah, it's two decades." "I wouldn't go that far."

Del - You said it was open 24/7
Trigger - Yeah but not at night...

Up there with one of the best lines in the whole series. Timed to perfection 👌🏼

Nicholas Lyndhurst “People like David (Jason) and myself still have that element of ourselves when we play the characters. When Roger (Lloyd-Pack) became Trigger, you never saw him as anything but Trigger. He was 100% the character”. RLP was such a talented (classical) actor. RIP.

Dubrovnik. September 19th, 2010. My wife and I, Australians, were on holidays and about to go out for dinner when a thunderstorm broke out. With some time to kill, I flicked on the TV in our room to see if there was anything in English. After five or six disappointments the last channel showed a blond man with a cigarette and a bad haircut putting on a CD of classical music. We had no idea what it was, but within seconds the blond man spoke in English (hurrah!) and within five minutes these unknown characters had us in stiches. Imagine the luck of getting "in fact you have to go past the pub" and "it's the karaoke version" in the first two minutes. We stayed until the end to see what it was called, and learned that it was called Only Fools and Horses. When we got home and researched it we were delighted to find out it was a sitcom with multiple seasons. A few months of dedicated effort later, we had watched every episode. If it wasn't for that thunderstorm, we'd still be blissfully unaware off this show and would have missed some of the greatest sitcom characters ever. Thank you random chance!!

Trigger's logic at its finest in this scene.

If comedy writers can achieve even 10% of the genius of John Sullivan they would be incredibly successful today.

His timing was so good in every thing he did.

Ha ha ha ha! Just as you’re thinking “he sounds impressively knowledgable for once” he says “it’s the karaoke version”. Priceless!
