Recorded at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels, Delphic Hymns is the trio version of the Hymn to the Muse by my dear friend and amazing composer Dusan Bogdanovic.

A marvelous composition, Dusan Bogdanovic "has chosen this piece to be a bridge between the abyss of the long gone and the mystery of the ever-present.
Language of the ancient Greek music speaks to us: it speaks of the intimately personal as well as the collectively mythical"

Few words from teh composer;
"Delphic Hymns was written for my dear friend Antigoni Goni, who has recorded it at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels with cellist Amy Norrington and violinist Vincent Hepp ; their playing is really brilliant and done with great feeling and sensitivity (which is not exactly what we hear these techno-days).
Perhaps a few words from the composer (or co-composer) might be in order. This music is based on a few remaining fragments of the antique Greek music; whereas both Mesomedes music and Seikilos Epitaph date to early 2nd century AD, the Delphic Hymns are of an earlier date, 128 BC. While I don’t pretend to know what this music really was like, I have followed the structural blueprint of every fragment to try and conjure this music into this time"

The lyrics of Seikilos Epitaph
While you live, shine
have no grief at all
life exists only for a short while
and Time demands his due

Wonderful composition and brilliant performance! "...a bridge between the abyss of the long gone and the mystery of the ever-present"... so poetic, that's exactly what we need in these cold times, these "techno-days". Thank you so much for sharing this musical medicine :)
