I own 2 hortons a scout and a 150 summit

I just purchased my first crossbow, a Raider 400 with AcuDraw De-Cock. I have a problem cocking the unit, I attempt to depress the gear stop button on the left side of the unit while simultaneously attempting to turn the crank collar backwards. First, it does not feel like the gear stop button depresses far enough and second, I cannot turn the crank collar backwards by hand while holding the gear stop button down. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions to correct this problem, or do I have a defective AcuDraw De-Cock unit?
