For install of the Standard type

not simply take off the upper bracket only ( without loosening the LOWER bolt below the alternator). at the "wear mark" of where along the old bracket the one screw is screwed down within the slot-length of the old piece. Then....take the new piece and try to match the hole spacing between these 2 bolts as close as possible as a tad shorter. Then install and adjust a "smidge" longer to regain tension. No doubt, at this point maybe you still need to first loosen the lower bolt, but it should be easier and also closer to the original tension you had before.

The cars with this engine ( mine included) run for a very long time and all will develop this belt squeal, so why would you be sold out for 7 months and not quickly produce more for the demand???
