I wanna try to see how I can add in other notes that’ll sound just as good, simple and nice as the others and step out of my diatonic comfort zone.

For instance, a B minor arpeggio could require a stretch from fret 14 to 9 on the A string. Yikes!

But a stretch from 14 to 12? Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

Instead of going all the way down to from the (let’s call it eighth) eighth to the fifth, I just go down to the seventh. Much easier.

Man, using music theory AND your ears is so helpful.
