Afghan refugees say they face abuse trying to cross into Croatia

Hundreds of people who fled Afghanistan during the Taliban takeover are trying to seek asylum in the EU. Some are stuck in Bosnia and the Danish Refugee Council has reported aggression toward them by Croatian police. Semir Sejfovic reports.

They should apply for asylum at adjacent borders, namely the 'Stans, Pakistan and Iran. Other countries, including Croatia, do not have an obligation to accept them as asylum seekers. They're breaking the law when they try to sneak across the border and madden the police by repeatedly doing so. These people can apply for visas at legal ports of entry any time they want. Disobeying the police is a really bad idea in any country.
