This kind of advertisement should be illegal. No Upscaling Software can achieve these kind of results, let alone render them in real time.
Also Tizen OS used to be one of the best operating system on TVs, but now it's unusable. Loved the Menu Bar that appeared on the bottom without pausing or closing the app you're using. So glad i switched to LG. Bye Bye

It only works if the original video comes from a HDMI input and has minimum 1080p, so the pixelated cat in the ad would never be able to upscale to 4k HDR

The future upscalers will rebuild the picture with multiple stages starting a low Res to ultra high Res using the initial picture as reference but generating completely new version of the original input and how much has changed will depend on how good the original picture was. This will remove limitations worse quality videos have using current implementations. Currently this technique isn't fast enough but there's many optimisations that can be done with no perceivable loss and the hardware will get more powerful. I suspect for 4k the sweet spot will be somewhere like 100-400 tops ai and with new techniques for ai processing this should be available in 2026 model Samsung.

Would this upscaling work on an Antenna source? My folks use DISH Network for their foreign shows, and quality is about 720p at best. Would love something like this for them.

You need minimum 720p with hevc video in order to achieve the results.

The imperfections it also in 4k, the color HDR it good, but you see in Netflix or in blu ray Xbox serie x or in antenna or sat the small point noise on the video that I was expected to remove with 1500 euro tv 55 " and was like 2400 euro on the launch and for the processor neural upscaling bla bla bla that talk Samsung marketing in YouTube
