I'm a huge fan of the original recording of this song, but there's something about this version that is just so magical. The production here is great, the tempo is a little bit slower, the flat tuning oddly works better than the standard, and everyone in Metallica plays it tight as fuck. Also a huge shoutout to the talented people in the San Francisco Orchestra and, of course, the great and late Michael Kamen who took this excellent composition into another level.

начало 2001го, ждал в полночь эротику по рен-тв, переключаю, а там metallica с симфоническим оркестром, как раз начало call of ktulu, ну я думаю какие то дядьки наяривают, величественно, но как-то заумно, без вокала и долго - пошёл поссать и тут концовка начинается "ТУДУДУДУУУ-ТУДУ-ДУ-ДА! ТУДУДУДУУУ-ТУДУ-ДА!" и я просто оцепенел в дверном проёме с мурашками, а потом бридж в master of puppets и я вернулся и просто в ахуе залип
