Metallica's "The Call Of Ktulu" Live in 1984 at Lyceum Theater, London, England. The bass part in this recording is able to be heard clearly, unlike in the original verson, and makes it much easier to learn the part by ear rather than guessing on many parts of the original.

Cliff can really make his bass sound like a monster roaring and screaming. The whole song is like a journey or story even though there's no lyrics. One of many reasons why they're the best

Cliff was more then a bass player. He was a musical genius.

Everyone talks about 5:05 but did you hear those pull offs at 1:39?

Now that was fucking masterful!

Screw the S&M version. *THIS* is the *BEST* live performance of The Call Of Ktulu and always will be.

I forget sometimes how much better Metallica was with Cliff.

Everybody is commenting 5:05 but 5:04 works better

They missed the ball by not bringing the bass level up on the original recording. To be honest, it's like the producers for ride and puppets were perplexed when it came to mixing him. Such an amazing talent that always seemed to be mixed but quite loud enough

Imagine hearing this bass in the 80’s, it must have blown people’s minds. There couldn’t have been anything like it, it was so futuristic.

This performance needs to be posted on Metallica's channel

The part at 4:19 is really good, played super fast. Then when they start building at 4:43, I think I hear galloping. Has become my favourite part. Cliff's bass almost drowns out the other instruments and I love it.

Now I definitely see some classical music influentions on Cliff
