Stop saying about family. I am a single mom, i have no husband to feed my son. We have reasons why we need to sail and it is not your business to decide where we should go.
If you cant see the bigger picture why they encourage women to sail please seek information. You may say most of the male seafarers would likely to agree, i am not surprise anyway. Only the fortunate ones are blessed to have the ability to see bigger pictures and there's a term for those who cannot, .. and they hinder the possibility to prosper. I am not yet in the position but ive seen a lot of wrongdoings onboard. And these pushes me to aim for a higher position.

women, most of them, they have skills to be captains or maybe chief engineers, and I admire that, but as I am master mariner with a service of 20 years at sea, 14 years as a Captain, I have to say that women cannot be on board and I am saying about cargo or tanker vessels. Don't ask why, I think that most of seamen could understand the reason, but I think that women sometime are much better than men, in case of emergency but finally could not be on board, it is all time only a problem.

How about give the voiceless females surrounding you a voice before you talk about female empowerment? Sorry but this message is not convincing enough
