India scored 349 runs with strong performances from Dravid (99 runs) and Sehwag (79 runs), while Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq scored 122 runs. Pakistan needed only 9 runs in the final over to win, but India's Ashish Nehra successfully stopped them and secured victory for India.

what amazed me was that pakistan team were struggling till the tenth over having made almost 40 and lsot 2.wicket. from there they nearly turned the match and lost narrowly by 5runs

I was in 8th standard back then... I still remember these IND-PAK games. I used to miss 30 overs of 1st Innings bc of school. Sunsets and chase starts...sehwag hitting flurry of boundaries in the chase. What a treat it was. Even though I'm Indian I used to like Pak players as well. Salman butt was a nightmare for Indian bowlers. Inzamam Malik akhtar Kamran Salman butt Gul razaq Sami naved ul Rana Shabbir Ahmed Younis khan. Every Pak player were so good to watch. It's sad that we can't see IND PAK series now. Even though if it happens we will not enjoy as current teams do not give that nostalgic feeling 😭😭
