ScotRail enters public ownership after being nationalised

Scotland’s railway is now under public ownership after being nationalised.

From April 1, ScotRail will be run by a new ‘arms-length’ Scottish Government company.

It brings to an end the tenure of Dutch firm Abellio, who had held responsibility for seven years.

Abellio’s contract to run ScotRail was ended early after criticism over its performance levels.

The new company, ScotRail Trains Limited, will run services overseen by Scottish Rail Holdings Ltd, a new public body controlled by the Scottish Government.

Sturgeon stripped Abellio of the franchise because they failed to provide an adequate service, and put the same guy that failed to provide that service in charge again ! Is he related or something ?
It’s got disaster written all over it. Lets see if she is so keen to be photographed next to a train once the truth comes out about her plans to save money by cutting staff and ticket offices.

And now, with Scotrail's new temporary timetable to be introduced next week, my last train home to Dunblane from Stirling, is going to be at 8.52, rather than 12.25! I was in favour of nationalising Scotrail, but if this is the result, I am having serious second thoughts! Absolute morons! Wonder if any of the Scottish Government own shares in taxi companies? As one guard wholeheartedly agreed with me last night, why the hell can't they cut services in the middle of the day, where there is at least still plenty of alternative trains, rather than leaving people stranded overnight? Just as well I've not bought any concert tickets recently, as I wouldn't now be able to attend. As the guard last night pointed out, they're supposed to be trying to help the entertainment industry get back on its' feet!
