Lol dude swings the hammer so much harder for the Andersen than the Pella.

My fibrex windows have endured years of extreme Chicago weather. This past winter our windows were pummeled with waves that hurled chunks of ice at our building (we live right on lake Michigan). The aluminum capping around the windows is filled with dents. The fibrex sashes are not damaged at all. If someone throws hammers at our windows we are in trouble.

For what these windows cost, if the contractor even scratches the window, they better replace it. The Pella still had a dent. As far as I’m concerned, they better replace it.

Smacks the fuck out of the Andersen and then barely taps the Pella…

It would be interesting to see comparison of Pella Impervia and Marvin Essential, both all fiberglass frames.

That’s Andersen’s 100 series entry level window, not the renewal one

First of all, who is using a hammer and nails to install windows? What year is this?

This is hilarious. That’s how you compare to Fibrex! Would love to see that demo in a home and you pull out a hammer and start beating the window. LMAO!

Heck yeah the installer is gonna replace those windows. It's great they didn't break, I see your point, but they did dent. I'm glad the frames are impact resistant. I ain't paying for dented windows though by any installer on ANY window.

That's the main reason a contractor should be fasting the window with a stainless screw and a cordless drill. Reason #2 in case the window ever needs to be removed you just unscrew it.

Umm I don’t care what the contractor says if they do an install and dent my window it’s getting replaced at there expense

Is there a reason you are not mentioning that they warrant states that on an null basis you have to put a jell coating on all the material so it does not crack or the warranty is voided for the fiberglass? That seems like a ton of work each year. Outside of installation there should never be a hammer next to a window. Renewal uses certified master installers and the product is warranted if something like that should happen. They do not use Contractors just hired off the streets to install their windows.

I wonder if this mean fibrex may have trouble with hail

I was surprised at Renewal By Andersen Warranty only covers installation for 2-years and does not cover "performance of the low-maintenance exterior glass coating on products with HighPerformance Low-E4® glass"

Could you give me a ballpark cost. For the day impervia window only. Not installed. 39x59 double hung. Even a low and high would be helpful

I mean it's nice that the Duracast doesn't break, but it still dents. If I'm paying say $1000 per window for the entire house, I would be very upset if a careless installer dented all my windows like that.

Problem with Pella, they have increased their prices to a point of not affordable for the average homeowner. Their prices in the last couple of years have doubled or more when they were already expensive. Anderson are not that much better.

Nail guns anyone? I’m assuming a professional isn’t going to smash my windows at all with anything.

Pella so worried about Andersen, can’t keep Andersens name out of their mouth.
