I think that most people who learn how to solve a 4x4 and up learn the Red Bull algorithm, which can be used to flip this edge duo on any size cube, odd or even-layered, including all types of shape mods, without having to learn additional algorithms. The edge is on the top front. Two intro moves: 2 mid-R (middle R) and 2B - then 2U, mid-L, 2U, mid-Ri, 2U, mid-R, 2U, 2F, mid-R, 2F, mid-Li - and then undo the two intro moves with 2B and 2 mid-R. It's called Red Bull because the first turn is R, then BUL. What helped me memorize it when I first learned it was thinking of it as a mountain climber. The climber tries to climb up (2U), but fails mid-L (left side "falls down"), he tries again (2U), but fails again mid-Ri (right side "falls down"), he tries again (2U), and succeeds a bit mid-R (right side "climbs up"), then tries more (2U) but nothing happens, so he pushes FORWARD (2F), and succeeds more mid-R (right side "climbs up"), and pushes FORWARD more (2F), and succeeds more mid-Li (left side "climbs up"). Then just undo the 2 intro moves.
