Marty does embrace digital tech and 3D but hates the idea of film going away. I think any self respecting filmmaker/fan should hold the same thought. People who are either totally for it and against film or totally for film and against digital don't make sense to me.

He's right, there really is no nourishment anymore. Even I remember growing up during a time where if a movie was released in theaters, it would stay there for several weeks - maybe even a few months, you could see it more than once if you really liked it, and you had to wait a year or more before it would be released on home video, but the wait was always worth it. Fast-forward to today, when a movie may be in a theater for a week (sometimes more if it's a box-office smash), then out on DVD a couple of months later, and that's it. There really is no nourishment there! I think this is one of the main reasons why it's so hard to really get into a new movie, or even TV series these day: they come and go so quickly, there's really nothing there to satisfy your craving (aside from the fact that almost everything has lousy content anymore anyway).
