Well, in my country (a small East European state named Romania) things are a little bit different. When it comes to the price, Africa Twins starts from 14 500 Euros, and the 850 GSA starts from 13 100 Euros. When it comes to the weight, the BMW wights 248 kg (548 pounds) filled with all fluids and ready to drive. On the other hand Honda Romania declares a 226 kg (498 pounds) for the EMPTY Africa Twin. We must take in consideration that the entry level version of Africa Twin has a 18 l (4 US GAL) fuell tank and the Adventure Sport Version has a 25 l (6 US GAL) fuell tank .We must also take in consideration the fact that the BMW comes equipped with crash bars which Honda hasn't. But you're gonna need crash bars on an ADV, isn't it? So, more money, more weight! If we consider all those facts, the conclusion is very simple. There is no difference between Africa Tween and 85 GS in terms of wight. But I won't stop here.... The 850 GS comes with spoked tubeless wheels in STANDARD. That's not the case of Africa Twin. The 850 GS comes STANDARD with adjustable windscreen. That's not the case of Africa Twin. You must pay around 2000 euros more if you want those options on the Japanese motorcycle.

One more thing.... when I've seen this video's title I was expecting to see people riding bikes and not just photos and statistics. Let's not talk abouT the fact that in all those fotos you showed the Adventure Sport version of Honda which is more expensive than the standard one and it looks much better.

I'm Honda owner, and Iike my NC 750 X a lot. But I'd pick the 850 GSA without any doubts!

I have the 850 GSA. It's a great jack of all trades master of none bike. It's great for committing, i can go 2 up comfortably, ive taken it off road camping and it did what it needed.

I got the Africa twin 1100 AS/ES and it’s terrific! Loving the DCT also once I got it all figured out In the settings. I used to have a 1200 GSA and I take the Honda anyday!

Reliability is the most important factor for adventure riding

The Africa Twin looks incomplete somehow, maybe no beak? I rode a friend‘s 850 and i cannot believe how comfortable it was. Riding position, legs and seat. It was a little tall for me but i think its adjustable. If i had the money i‘d definitely pick one up!

I own the GS Adventure. What I don't like about it: Its heavy. I own the fully spec Exclusive version. It does everything, okay for dirt tacks but not a full over road due to its weight.

I choose the BMW 850 GSA. I adore the electronic suspension which I can change using a button . Also got a lot of additional parts and add-ons from BMW for a better price compared to the Honda Electronic suspension version.

I have the 850 GSA and love it! I haven't rode the AT, but the GSA does everything I want with style, confidence and grace!

Love the tables that compare all bikes. That was a great comparison. 👍🏻

Re the weight. BMW R1250GS is all down low. I found the 850 a bit top heavy. Especially when fuelled up!

Ask me how I know...I once dropped a 850 gsa coming out a petrol station after filling up 😒🤬

I have the 850 gsa only issue I had was the keyless entry not unlocking my gas cap. Wich left me stuck in Alaska 150 miles from the dealer . Bike was a week old . I wish I could swap out gas caps for a old school key cap.

Excellent video, thank you for your time but please allow the critique. The audio is abit low and difficult to hear clearly when listening with headphones while in a public place with moderate noise pollution. Thank you for youre content:)

Waiting for 2020 Africa Twin AS Manual to become used With 15-20 K miles in a few years in the US. Would love to find it for $10K US. Currently ride Decked out2013 Nc700x. Africa Twin is my dream bike, w/honda realiability, with that beautiful R/W/B colorway, and angel halo led lights, it actually looks more like A BMW Than a BMW itself 🤣

I would suggest that 85% of the people who buy these bikes, like me, don't buy them to off road them but because they love the looks, the comfort and also their touring capabilities. I got the BMW 850 Rallye (not an adventure model). I don't need the extra fuel load as in Europe you have petrol stations every few kms. The range on a tankful is around 300kms so around 3 hours in the saddle. No need for more weight. My bike is light and comfortable and does everything the Adventure and the AT models do.
