If the memory serves me right Apollo 17 also used a duct tape to repair some part of the wheel on the moon too. So right now whenever I see a good old duct tape in the space movie, I kinda know that everything is gonna be alright.

What they did onboard that space capsule was to make an oxygen rebreather . Yes, a lot of duct tape was used to hold it together . Rebreathers are what's used when people go scuba diving and this way there are no bubbles when they breath out . Rebreathers were used by the navy during WW11 . A rebreather is also called a carbon dioxide scrubber . They are used in just about all American space missions, this is what filters all the Co2 out of the air inside the space craft .

I sure hope that duct tape is required to be standard equipment on ALL manned space missions. In fact, how much duct tape does the International Space Station have on board?
