As the volume of published research in critical care grows, the need for synthesis of evidence becomes increasingly important. Systematic reviews and meta-analysis are key tools for evidence synthesis that most critical care clinicians must interpret and apply to their practice. In addition, there are many research questions in critical care that may be addressed by SCCM members using these approaches. However, the conduct of systematic reviews and meta-analysis requires specialized methodology, including clear specification of the research question, comprehensive strategies for identifying relevant studies, and appropriate statistical methods for analysis.

This webinar provides an overview of the key steps involved in systematic reviews and meta-analysis for those interested in using these approaches in their own research, and for readers of the critical care literature.

This is a grant-sponsored webcast; it is complimentary for attendees.

This webcast is brought to you by Discovery, the critical care research network at SCCM.
