Why plug-in hybrid isn't the top pick

Renault has introduced a plug-in hybrid powertrain to its popular Captur crossover. With a promised electric range of up to 31 miles, and a 1.6-litre petrol engine to take on long-range driving duties, it sounds like it could be the perfect compromise. So why isn't Rebecca Jackson convinced that the Captur E-Tech is better than simpler – and much cheaper – models in the range?

I regret that general recommendations always come in comparison with petrol cars. Plug-in hybrid technology has nothing to do with petrol. Therefore it is a pity these are always been put into balance whereas they serve two completely different purposes. This is definitely a better car for tomorrow's issues, in terms of sustainability and economy, no matter what current petrol vehicles do provide in terms of leisure and "convenience". Oil lobby groups only keep saying this is not the right alternative.

The interior is much better in terms of perceived quality than Ford Puma

What’s with the intrusive back ground music when the reviewer is talking? It’s on sometimes then off. Personally I would like it off so I can hear her talk.

I think the interior is one of the best in its range

Fell in love. Design and everything.
Practical in a sensual form. I also like the power unit.

Can I buy it in Japan?

How does this Captur plugin hybrid compare with non-plugin hybrid from Renault Arkana? Regarding how much petrol consumption per 100km?

Love the styling of that new cabin. My wife has the previous capture petrol and it looks much the same tho everywhere else. I'd like to see them do a full electric version with a 300mile range battery.

Helpful points in a concise review. Thanks. (I would have liked to see the boot with the rear seats slid forward, but that's a tiny nitpick)

@CarGurusUK what's the battery only range in miles of this car? any details of the electric motor? you said in the review the suspension is not great. what is the rear suspension type? what size/capacity is the petrol engine? what is the petrol tank size? and therefore what is the maximum petrol driven range of this car? How long and how to charge the batteries? is there longer warranty on the battery and electric motor? I feel that a lot of important things are missing from your review.

Lovely colour and cabin interior details.
I love the electric idea but yes it does alter its practicality as a compact suv with having to store the extra baggage.
Great SUV that is not long but still holds the road really well. 🧡

If they put the cable under the floor, how can you charge it on the go with the boot full of stuff?

Welcome . Can you help me to get spare parts for the Renault Captur 2020 model? I need the exterior front parts of the car. Of course, I am a fan of the Renault car, but unfortunately the car was in an accident. can you help me

On the basis that I can get up to 65mpg from my 1st-gen Captur dCi, where is the benefit of the PHEV version of the current model? It would take for ever to pay back the inflated purchase price

All the negative aspects in this video is baseless. For ex there is less boot space and the presenter says you can move the back seat to give extra space to the boot. !!!

Never mind the car the best bit of her videos is to guess when she mentions that she is 5ft 4 and a half ins. 2 mins 27 into this video a bit sooner than usual as she did the back first. Perhaps she can arrange a competition we can take part in to guess the time when she mentions her height and encourage more viewers to the channel. Keep up the good work.
