The Strip is not 100% union. The Culinary union only covers guest room attendants, cocktails, food servers, porters, bellman, cooks, bartenders, laundry and kitchen workers. They do not cover casino workers, convention workers, valet, lifeguards, front desk, etc. I was a casino dealer on the Las Vegas Strip and we have been trying to get a union for decades, but we have been met with union busting tactics. My friend was fired for trying to start a union at our casino. But the casinos aggressively fought back and there are less than 5 casinos that have a union for casino dealers even though there are over 150 casinos in Las Vegas.

Unions are needed where people are treated fairly. The fact the entire strip had to unionize to get fair treatment speaks more about how badly the men who own and run those corporations are to We the People.

MGM grand went from $36 an hour to $18 OVER NIGHT, So no, not ALL is union. Many get screwed by the casino industry.

Unions are great until you work with a union or you can't get medical attention because a union is on strike.
Unions are in direct opposition to meritocracy and lead to worse outcomes for the top and marginally better for the bottom. Even with that said who do you think is fronting the bill from paying them more? You think the ceos and boards agree to cut their pay? No... the money comes from you.
You also see good workers leave because they cant get overtime, or aren't recognized for their skills anymore.
