Not much lake current but rivers like the Mississippi and St. Croix there is.

So you have to take advantage and dock from the North side if you can.

Or go to the county park with a protected harbor with no current.

The St. Croix gets lots of boating activity. It dumps into the Mississippi just South of St. Paul, MN.
