I’m 6-1/2 yrs sober. I watch this kind of stuff every so often as a reminder. Alcohol is devastating. People don’t realize how it just deteriorates your mind and body over time. It’s as harmful as any other drug. My only regret is I didn’t quit sooner.

I worked in corrections for 11 years and then worked in a jail. The jail was one of the best jobs I ever had but not because it paid well. I understood first hand that people coming into jail didn’t necessarily wake up and say I’m going to jail today. It is probably one of the worst days of a person’s life. Just being a human being as an officer gets you a long way. I was always able to talk a person down by just talking to them like they were a human being and with respect. You meet people from all walks of life and there were some awesome people outside of of the circumstance. I miss that job, it was my calling.

I had to spend the night in a cell because I got in a bar fight thank god I learned my lesson after that it honestly just took that one experience and I never did it again I use to drink 30 drinks daily and mix pills now I am sober and have changed my life around so much ❤
