I really wanted to make this video to help you guys out if you're looking into fashion design! I get DM's all the time from people wanting to know how to start or what it takes to be a fashion designer, and though I'm still in school, I do think I have a good amount of knowledge to share with all of you! I am 15 and i really wanna be a fashion designer
I learned embroidery 2 years back and it really did motivated me to dig more in fashion as now i can do embroidery much better than before
Moreover my school asked me to make mini clothes for dolls in fashion exhibition which i made and also added few decorations to those clothes which i sewed
That really did motivated me to do more and learn new stuffs in fashion and yes this vacation after my exams am planning to work with dress foams, draping and sewing with youtube tutorials . Also i have once did a design on sketchbook app but it didnt turn that good but i did better at first try so i will make sure to focus more in that area as well.

In my personal opinion, I think apart from illustration etc. Fashion history takes a big part in fashion career, I’ve been taking some amateur fashion design classes since 8 years old, and since now, what my classes have been focusing on the most is Fashion history. Because someone can’t just draw an idea and call it a fashion design. They learn how Fashion designers used to work back in the golden eras of fashion, And take some examples and inspiration. Yes, they have to follow trending fashion but sometimes the best designs are the ones that stand out, by fashion history they can learn a lot about just that

the part about calling yourself a fashion designer!! i struggled w/this for a long time because i thought my designs/ideas weren't worthy/big enough, but now i know that all type of designs and fashion ideas matter!!

As a little girl I always wanted to be a fashion designer but in my country (Mexico) that is a very elitist career and I could never afford it. So I went to a public college and I’m graduating this summer with a master’s in Design and Visual Comunication. And sincerely I think it was the best choice ever because in my free time for this whole 4 years I taught myself how to sew and design clothing. I started my own brand as well last year and it’s been really cool! Design taught me so many other skills like color theory, shapes, photography, video editing, color grading, animation, drawing, marketing, etc. And today I’m thankful for all the knowledge I got from college that now I can apply to my own clothing brand. I make everything by myself, clothing, photography, advertising, marketing campaigns, etc. And it’s pretty tough for just one person but very fulfilling at the time :)
