They definitely have more work to do for the Expo and pre-race morning logistics. I ran it for the Marathon Majors AG Worlds Championships and if there is 40, 000 going forward vs 25, 000 in the marathon, it will be pure chaos before start and after. Lots of areas on the course had no people at all since we ran on highways. No sidewalk to stand on. It was pretty hilly. I had over 1, 100ft of elevation gain which is tough for a full marathon. Wind was a big factor too. 30mph with 38mph gusts. The bridge was great, the Opera House finish was EPIC. Syndey and its people were beyond fantastic. They just need to get far more organized for before and after.

Nice course and city of course but the focus was very much on sponsors and partners rather than coherent race coverage for the elites.

How can this become a major marathon with terrible coverage, and lacking spectators across the course. The older gentleman covering the race is struggling to speak.
