In the case of "It meant that accepted theories were flawed". What exactly is the main verb and subject?

In this sentence: In the 1980’s, the median price of a house more than
doubled, generally outdistancing the rate of inflation. What would be the main verb? I understand it's not a comma splice but I'm having trouble with finding the parts of the sentence? Thanks!
