Thank you for showing your trip. I loved how you blended showing your journaling and video. Looks like you all had a wonderful time. I live in California and the fires here are no joke. I am happy that they have been manageable this year. However the past three - four years were horrendous. So much so I wanted to move. I could hardly breathe for three months. Now Canada has smoked out the rest of the north US and they now know our pain. It’s devastating to Europe where most don’t have air conditioning. I fear for the elderly folks. Please everyone stay hydrated!

Hi, Ali. Thank you for showing us a delightful portion of your trip. Enjoyed your flip through. The scenery was so magnificent. The sight & sounds of the water are perfect for sitting & just watching endlessly. It sounded like you all had a wonderful time. Loved seeing your dogs in the water & scampering about. I have loved watching this video sooo much Ali! I love your description of the beauty of the area and how much you enjoyed your family time. Thank you for sharing the video clips, it was lovely to see the dogs enjoying themselves. The pull-out sketch book looks fabulous, you’ve made such a lovely keepsake.
I’m glad you noticed that the pin had fallen off and it didn’t get left behind 😮‍💨 I’m going to move mine now as I have the same one and it’s pinned on the outside of my bag, I’ll have to find a safer place for it 😊
I did think about you being away when we have had such awful rain but you seemed to have made the best of the little break away, so glad you had a lovely time ❤

The river area you visited is so beautiful, I can almost feel the cool water myself! I love splashing around and exploring around water. Sounds like you had a fantastic time with family in the Lodge playing games, as well. I have heard of Werewolves and Exploding Kittens but have never played them. I will now have to check them out as we enjoy board games, too. I absolutely love love love the watercolor painting you did of the trip! What a beautiful way to mark the memorable places and activities! The organizer in me says put the sketches and the memory keeping together, but how would that be possible as it would require different paper. I suppose you could glue the sketches in? Maybe you wouldn't necessarily need different paper. Anyway I love the accordion style insert but can see it would be unwieldy to use when abroad. I'm so glad you didn't lose the gifted pin! Thanks for sharing this adventure with us! Blessings!

Thanks for sharing your getaway with us. It looked so fun! I loved that you shared that river, I just love the sound of water, so relaxing. I like the doodles right in with your daily, it’s nice to keep it all together. I’ve decided to do something like that myself, once I complete my “travel” insert, I’m going to just incorporate my travels into my daily insert. Maybe if I traveled more it would make sense to have them separate. 😂 BTW, your “doodles” are little works of art! ❤

Oh I did have a laugh at the squishy back seat! 😂 I approved of your food packing list though, champagne, cheese and crackers, coffee…sounds perfect to me. Hmmm…that River….obviously a problem solver. Thank you for the little video clips, it looked idyllic and games in the evening sounds fun. We like to play exploding kittens, skip-bo and greed…always lots of laughs…and the occasional patina creating event of some red wine knocked over in excitement. 🫢 a lovely break and a wonderful test run for France! 💕☺️Louise

Your trip away looked lovey, even in the rain. We’ve been to the Peak District with the dogs, only got caught out once with rain in the whole week.

Wow your travel journal from this trip is beautiful 😍 although I live in NZ now, I lived in Derbyshire for 10 years very close to Dovedale and my children were both born there. So lovely to see your videos as I haven’t seen it for 15 years ❤

What a great little getaway. I like the glamming better than camping. 😊 I absolutely love your accordion sketch book. I’ve seen it done before on a larger scale which is less practical so I love the size of the one you created. I think I may give it a go. Another artist I follow used her accordion sketchbook to draw and watercolor her shoe collection. 😂

Awe so lovely you share this .❤❤❤your boy is like mine he is 16 also gets back to been a boy in nature so lovely . Oh i was wandering a out the heat over there and the fires .phewl you werent near them . We have this each year in the summers, the fire break outs . Hehe theo under the bed dont you love these fun moments with them 💕. Treasured famiy time loved seeing that too 😊
I got the omniflex nib for my conklin, and i agree there's not a lot of variation, but it's lovely and smooth to write with, and that's the main thing .the og nib was fine and wrote nicely but not quite as smooth as the omni flex fine
