Question to Viewers: Should the $35K version of Model 3 be on the website?

I disagree that no one would want the SR. You really get very little for $2500, the extra 20 miles are normally not used except on road trips. Otherwise you charge to 80%. The software locked battery on the SR means you can charge to 100% and really there is more battery left. You lose immersive sound, which is nothing. Still have heated front seats.

I want the 35k version. It is like a Standard plus version for less. According to Alex's video review of the base Model 3, that 35k version has a range of 240 miles, nice electric adjustment seats that have the leather like material.

As I understand it you can buy Standard Range for $35k plus delivery, or Standard Range Plus {which has autopilot) for $39, 500. As far as I know there is no $37, 500 model. The $35k Standard Range should definitely be available AND in the configurator. Otherwise, guess what, a typical buyer will not know it exists. So it won’t sell in significant numbers. So Tesla will be able to say there was no demand. The fact is, if their goal is to accelerate adoption of EVs, they need a compelling car at the lowest possible price. An extra $4, 500 could put the Standard Range Plus out of people’s reach - Tesla have said many buyers are stretching themselves to buy a more expensive vehicle than before. The $35k model will be within reach for more people.

I look at the Tesla page right now he prise for a Model 3 Standard range plus is 39, 500 $ in black. That is 4, 500 $ more than the Standard range.

They should not only keep it but also develop an even cheaper version for the masses.

Tesla did make a step in the right direction by reducing the cost of paint options by $500, but it’s still not a mass market car until there are some choice in free color and $500 premium colors. They can use the same cheap paint as the black paint, but in red, white, and blue. Then if you want paint that won’t wash off, $500 extra. Lol

Yes, it's the lost leader, it needs to be back on the website for sure

Tesla still hasn’t made a single &35k VERSION of the model 3. They have sold a few SR+ versions for $35k. The key distinction is they still can’t crank out $35k cars at a profit, and they have made them so hard to get that they claim there is little demand. But I saw a bunch of people interested in the $35k version.

Do we have any data on these $35k deliveries? Which State, when was it configured, was it a reservation holder? If they sell these in ZEV states, that’s worth more to Tesla than selling an SR+ in a non-ZEV state.

I’d love to see a non-reservation holder walk into a showroom in a non-ZEV state and see if he can order a NEW (with AP 3.0 hardware) $35k model 3, and if so, how many hurdles?

Hurdles remind me of the game regular dealerships played, saying “Ok, let me try to convince our sales manager to give you a lower price”, and then he goes an smokes a cigarette and comes back. Lol

E For Electric. I love your vides. Thank you for your commitment to all things Electric Car news. That being said. Please please please just shut up about Tesla already. Even for just a week. Talk about anything else: The Bolt, The Polestar 2, Toyota Rav 4 EV... just anything else. Tesla This... Tesla That...

Yes, you can still order a $35, 000 Model 3.
The problem is, it will cost more than $35, 000, lol.

They should keep the 35k model, then sell upgrade packages as an option. Everyone financial situation is different. Also I notice you have a bitterness towards Tesla, why? What other EV challenging Tesla right now? Let me know, I'll wait for your response.

The Standard Range is off the menu and is $35K, not $37.5K. The difference between the Standard and Standard Plus is $4, 500
