Tesla Model 3 Standard Range 35k & Long Range Convoy Reno to Vegas V3 Supercharger | Efficiency Test

Today we drove from Reno NV to Las Vegas and tested the efficiency and supercharging speeds during the trip. We took the 2019 standard range model 3 and the 2018 long range model 3 both rwd. The efficiency was pretty interesting and close I was surprised. One thing is the standard range model 3 charges fast. The trip was 350 miles and super smooth the whole way supercharging.

Ask me anything below.

Thanks for watching!

Those ICE cars should be reported. People need to understand that they cannot use a Tesla charging spot as a parking space.

I get that noise all the time as well in cold weather, high altitude....it's a pressure release mechanism in the battery array, no worries

Wow. That's a nice comparison of those two awesome cars. Did you charge both cars about the same time? Did the long range car needed longer to charge?

I have the standard plus, I was down to 55 miles (roughly 23%), I charge at the 150kw supercharger, 12 stalls, only about 3 cars present charging, no sharing stall, with battery pre conditioning, the car can only charge 77-78kw max. And you are getting 140ish kw. Wow. Ever since the software update, I've only seen max 77-78kw charging. Before the update I got 101kw max.

At the beginning, did you leave the Standard Range at 100% charge overnight? That might explain the battery degradation.

Kinda sucks that you get less than 100 miles of highway travel with that standard range.

Can you do more content of the standard range

Do you let your cars sit 100% charged? This is very bad for the battery! If you charge to 100% you need to drive it. Other wise you will loose rang and shorten your batteries life.

So why does Tesla advertise 250 mile (400km) range on the SR+ ?.
