"Illusion" saved my life. Nothing was working in my life, no matter how hard I tried. I was going to end it all. I listened to this song and broke down. It is ok to be me. I don't have to become someone else to make things work. There are those around me that would beg me not to go, and it gave me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

I love the live VNV performances I've seen. Ronan seems so emotional on stage, and it makes the songs seem so much more poignant. As if 'Illusion' wasn't enough of a tear-jerker before..

Ronan Harris is a beautiful man and he's an extremely emotional individual, so it's not unusual that his music touches your heart. It's amazing at how many people, who aren't into Goth/Industrial/EBM music, but adore VNV Nation. I always play music in my car without thinking about it, but I had too take my mother to the store. She said, "Who's this....???" So, I went to turn off the music and she said "Stop, I love this....!!!" I bought her VNV's music ― I'm now without her for three years, so thank you Ronan for connecting us through your music.

WOW vor 20 Jahren hat ein leider verstorbener Freund (Carsten ❤ ) mir VNV Nation vorgespielt. Ich war sofort absolut begeistert. Dachte, nach vielen Konzerten geht es nicht besser. Konzert war atemberaubend und emotional. Ich war so gerührt. Ronan, deine Musik sorgt dafür, dass ich weinen kann und muss.
Wenn es mir gesundheitlich mal nicht gut geht, höre ich VNV NATION und es geht wieder aufwärts. Das schaffst DU Ronan.

was ein Abend im Tanzcafe vor 20 Jahren alles verändert hat, als ich VNV da zum ersten mal hörte und sofort den Dj fragte wer das ist. So viele Lieder dieser Band die mich auch heute noch begleiten und, wie shine, die Tränen fließen lassen. Vielen Dank an Ronan Harris und diese Präsentation mit Orchester und anhand der ganzen Kommentare, die das selbe fühlen "Musik ist der Schlüssel zur Seele" und es immer wieder schön zu sehen (zu lesen) das ich da nicht alleine bin.

My first exposure to this group was the song "Illusion" close to a year ago, and it was actually the ending credits song to a game I had just finished. The game is Called Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. It deals heavily with feelings of regret, sadness, despair, psychosis, and the deepest level of pure emotional hurt. I wasn't expecting it, but as soon as the lyrics started, it just hit me like a freight train. Beautiful, haunting, and a stark reminder that it's ok to be yourself. It's ok to feel, and it's something we never have to be ashamed for.

I was there, pretty far away from the stage because it felt like everyone came to see this act, and we could not get any closer. People around me were hugging, swaying, dancing and singing along. Everyone was so emotional, it was incredible being in that crowd.

I discovered VNV Nation during the MySpace days. I've been a fan ever since❤ I think "Endless Skies" is my favourite, but all the songs resonate. Such beautiful music!
