July 2006, Athens Festival, Silvia and I bought front row tickets to see The Blues Brothers Band and Solomon Burke perform in the ancient Herod Atticus open air amphitheatre under the Parthenon on the Athens Acropolis.
With zero expectation but with nothing to lose I emailed Steve Cropper’s agent and record company asking for a chance to meet the man that I had idolised for so many years.
I was literally speechless when Steve himself phoned me at home to invite me backstage.
And so began a magic evening and Silvia was ready with her camera
