Your books are fabulous! I have added them to my tbr lists as I haven’t read them. I will try to join in the readathon as I like retro vintage books and their beautiful covers too. I think I have a few older romance books on my bookshelves that I have been meaning to read. I have books by Danielle Steele, Elizabeth Taylor (the author), and Elizabeth Bowen that might qualify for vintage romance. Oh and I have a book called Love Insurance by Earl Derr Biggers, who is an author I rarely hear about, with fabulous book cover artwork. And for fun, I looked for other vintage romance books especially around 1950’s through 1970’s and found a whole bunch some of which have gothic elements to them.

I am also reading a Betty Neels book titled Cassandra by Chance 😁 She is one of the authors for Category Romance Online Book Club ❤️
I hope you enjoy these oldies but goodies 😊

Betty Neels was another author that I read tons of when I was young because my mom had many. I did not know about this readathon lol but now I do so I’m going to have to read at least one lol.

You will LOVE the Beverly Cleary books. The Luckiest Girl was published the year I was born (yes, I'm old! LOL), so I've always kind of loved that one of hers the most. But Jean and Johnny is just adorable. Cleary also wrote one called Sister of the Bride, which is set a few years later in the 60s. It's slightly different, but just as good as the others. I don't mind saying that I cried some ugly tears when Beverly Cleary died; I think in my heart of hearts I thought she'd live forever. Well...in a way, she will! 💖

Retro Romance is a genre that is near and dear to my heart. The covers are so sweet, and I love to collect them. I would love to buddy read The Luckiest Girl with you! I've had bangs ever since I was little. My sweet grandma always cut my fringe bangs as they were her favorite. Therefore, at 49 I still style my hair with bangs. 💕💕💕

Those vintage Beverly Cleary books are so cute💕. I found some of those vintage Harlequins at my local thrift store, they are so fun! I have read a few and enjoyed them, so looking forward to reading one for retro romance and then maybe a D.E. Stevenson :)

I think I might try one of the vintage Grace Livingston Hill books that I own now! I’m excited for this readathon, it’s a favorite of mine every year.

I’m sure in England they would love your “fringe” (bangs) 😁😁😁

I was born in 1971, and oh the memories you brought back with the Beverly Cleary books--I need to find copies to reread!

And I'm 53 and have had my bangs since I was 11! God bless from Lisa.

I own those hardcover copies of The Luckiest Girl and Jean and Johnny. I love those covers and I have both facing outward on my shelves. The last two pages of The Luckiest Girl always get me teary-eyed because of the sentimental lines. It's time for a reread of both books--thanks for the reminder, Mitzi!

I read Henrietta's Own Castle back when it was originally published because I was a tween back then and was a member of the Harlequin book club which sent out 6 or 8 books to members each month. (Can't remember how many exactly.) I still have a box of my favorites stored away in my office.
