I have a Japanese Bobtail cat I got at an animal rescue in Saugerties NY. She was about six months old and nobody wanted her because of her "birth defect" tail. I stood watching her and a fly flew into her tray, she reached out and caught it on the fly and popped it in her mouth. I knew this is my cat. The ways it was described here are quite accurate only it rarely stops talking and is far too affectionate. We call her Bunni because of her tail.

I had a black and white cat with the markings kind of like the bobtail named Skully. One day he knocked on the door and then said "Mom let me in!" I rushed to the door to let one of my daughters in. But no one was there. I opened the screen door and in comes the cat.

Hello - pronunciation police here - amber-gris, not amber-grease! Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
I actually got to smell real ambergris once, which is rare for people in the US as it is illegal to buy or sell the stuff here, it is a controlled substance. The ambergris I smelled was decades old and was part of a museum collection, it was dark yellow-brown and smelled quite pleasant, sort of like vanilla and alcohol. In the US we are not allowed to sell ambergris found floating or at the beach, which is a shame, I think the reason for the law is that maybe ambergris from a slaughtered whale could be passed off as ambergris found floating or on the beach, I am not completely sure though.
