LED case lighting would make it look even faster.

That fact at 0:28 really puts everything in perspective for me. Hats off to the engineers at AMD and ORNL for breaking the exascale barrier! The future is bright with such smart minds working together for the benefit of the world.

Beyond exciting. I'm having flashbacks from the 6th grade---I was selected amongst the quietest and brightest kids in the room to visit the local technical school and work on computers. This was 1980ish. Im happy to be here in the future. I can say I've seen it all come together. Its amazing.

Congrats! This is huge, not only for Oak Ridge and the US.

This shows human ingenuity can solve problems and propel it to a better future . I hope it will be helpful with achieving fusion enemy after so many years of trying .

It can make breathtaking new scientific discoveries...like figuring out how to make a super computer even faster than this.

It's not for running game, it is the game 💀🔥

It would take the entire human population 4 years to do what frontier can do in 1 second ... so I suppose frontier can create a zettascale computer in 3 seconds then right ?

Oakridge broke this barrier in 2018 and is already on the way to yotta. Frontier is ~21MW so where does the other 159MW factor in? Makes you wonder how fast those machines really are. Congratulations!

it says theres 8, 730, 112 cores, if im correct, each cpu has 64 cores, so that does that, this super computer has 136, 408 CPUs?!?!?!

Frontier is a small step for us, but a giant leap for the scientific discoveries. Future computers would be so fast, that within 2500, we will have been created a supercomputer, that will simulate the entire observable universe.

Its discoveries will then be made proprietary, never be on sale, and never be released to the public.
