He failed to mention how well it rides and how quiet it is...and that the power is more than adequate. The Buick Encore is the same thing but fancier and perhaps prettier, and even more expensive...yet it is selling rather well.

Idk why people keep saying it's slow and lacks power. I have a Trax and I get right onto the highway without hesitation. Even when it's fully loaded it's still good with power.

GM Korea defects rates are lower than GM Usa. GM Korea are experts and they knows how to build small cars for global markets (Spark, Aveo/Sonic, Cruze/Lacetti, Trax/Encore, Orlando, new Malibu, Captiva). GM Usa would have NEVER know how to built a good small or compact car. All we got was the Cavalier for 3 decades. The Trax in basic LS makes sense for its low 20k price tag. For an Awd Ltz price tag i would go for a Forester, CRV, Rav4, Cx5, Outlander, etc. So that coment of the Trax being built in Korea as a negative connotations is silly. Kia and Hyundai are built in Korea. Korea is a great country and makes good products. GM Usa would have never been competitive in the small car segment without GM Korea. Thank you.

Remember - that's the top trim.  Most buyers who will consider the Chevy Trax will look at the LT trim, that'll be about $3k less.  Check your dealer...

It's pretty funny how they are comparing this SUV to other SUVs that aren't even in its class.  The Equinox is competing with the CRV and the Forester.  This is smaller than those cars because its not competing with them.  It's competing with smaller SUVs.  Consumer Reports being unfair to American cars once again.

The Chevy Trax is a really good looking sub SUV. I like it but the price needs to go down for a decently equipped model.

This review is really misleading. A comparable Nissan Juke SL AWD prices out at around 28 grand. Which makes this car priced just about right for the class. The Subaru Forester Limited base price he refers to is correct but doesn't include all of the options it would take to make the Forester comparable (nav, heated seats, back-up camera). Adding those options would make the Forester or a comparable CR-V, RAV4, or Escape well over 31 grand. The Trax isn't designed to compete with any of those vehicles. A comparable Mini Countryman with AWD would be 35 grand making the Trax a really good value.

This competes with the Subaru XV Crosstrek, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Jeep Renegade, and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

Has GM ever made a car that comes close to something you would recommend?

I would rather pay $28000 than drive an ugly Subaru

Not to mention you can buy a mid-level Equinox for that kind of money. I'm pretty shocked at the prices of the Trax, maybe they'll get some big rebates otherwise I don't see them selling well.

I'm getting my first car on Monday and I was able to get this one. I'm hoping that once I'm done financing it I could change the color from red to indicolite. Super excited!

Funny, this is a copy of Opel Mokka, made by the cheaper Chevrolet Brand (that replaced Daewoo brand around the world), mostly for Asia (you can buy it in EU also), assembled in Asia and then transported back to US to be sold as a 'Chevy'...

Am I wrong to assume that the Encore is built in the same county as the Trax, in Korea

This makes the Jeep Renegade trailhawk a total value proposition in comparison.

So in other words, CR thinks the Trax sucks.  Thank you CR.  I agree, the Subaru Forester seems like a much better buy.  Thumbs up.

This has been available in Canada for a number of years.  I'm sorry you have to see it now.

I am disappointed in GM. How could this miniscule SUV be 28K? Don't you realize you can get a brand new Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD with NAV for that price!? What motive would anybody have buying this thing besides its size?
